Nordic North Africa

Oslo has a small, but quite vibrant North African community. Many community members are professional musicians from Morocco and Algeria who came to Norway with plans for a concert tour and maybe a European album release before returning home as stars - but who instead wound up staying for the long term.
Aissa Toby is one of these. A jovial fiddle and banjo player with a great voice - and front-figure of a band called "Tassili". Tassili's new CD "Latebkish" will be released in Oslo on May first, but you can see a music video with one of the tracks already now:
